In my own experience, there are also permutations of these two characteristics.

Since Both intelligence and ignorance can be found in all of us. Perhaps my explanation may sound anecdotal to you, to me it ring true. Another words there is a positive or negative correlation between the two. So let me briefly elaborate on this a bit further.

Intelligence can lead to selfishness since concerning excessively or exclusively with oneself is not the characteristics of an idiot, but rather a common feeling of complete discontent or dissatisfaction fused with apathy and greed.

Thus making the selfishness of mankind incurable.

Such as the ideologies of capitalism is the signature of selfishness apathy greed and exploitation.

So perhaps you should redirect your thoughts instead of highlighting, "Intelligence Vs. Ignorance" you should be rather exploring the perplexing subjects of communism vs. capitalism.

Then you will perhaps understand rationally, because when it comes to politics everything else fall somewhere between these two conditional evil.
