Northerly Haitian city of Acul du Nord
At the coordinates of latitude 19.667655, and longitude -72.332345, the northerly Haitian city of Acul du Nord lies some 15 km from another important Haitian city called Cap-Haitien, which has its coordinates as latitude 19.747655 and longitude -72.212345. Acul du Nord, by miles, lies at a distance of 9.6 miles west of the historical city of Cap-Haitian. MINUSTAH has provided Acul du Nord with two prefabricated buildings to be used as court houses, Camp Louise and Peace Grison-Garde. The United Nations Mission for Stabilization in Haiti donated $140,000 USD for the project. Both courts are equipped with two courtrooms and offices for the judge and deputy. They also have a records office and archives, and space for a Civil Status Office. They have been outfitted with two typewriters, six computers and dozen chairs.
Acul du Nord District has three municipalities
A district in the north of Haiti, the Acul du Nord District is comprised of three municipalities. There is the Plaine du Nord, Milot, and the district's namesake, Acul du Nord. The city Acul du Nord is its capital, but the inhabitants of the entire district and its three municipalities is listed, from an estimate done four years ago, as 117,456 people. Around the Acul du Nord municipality, the elevation of the land is measured to be about 20 m, which equates to about 70 feet.

Acul du Nord, known in the Creole language of Haiti as Akil dinò, in a municipality that can be found languishing in the very north of the Caribbean country in what is known as Haiti's Nord, or North Department. It is considered to be in the Acul du Nord Arrondissement and, by a 2003 count, is listed as having as many as 51, 337 people in its population. Its coordinates are 19°41′0″N 72°19′0″W.

During the meeting, the parties agreed on a way forward to revive the tourism industry, which constitute a major economic growth sector in Haiti. The 15-kilometre coastline has six operating hotels with 452 rooms. This is valued at 50 million dollars and around a thousand tourists are accommodated in a week. The two hotels that have been in operation for long, since 1984, Club Indigo and Beatrice Nadal Mevs can give an account of the coastline situation.
