New Notre Dame d'Haiti Church in Little Haiti
After 35 years of hard work, began by the then Archbishop Thomas Wenski, the New Notre Dame d'Haiti Church in Little Haiti celebrated its first mass at the beginning of Black History Month. The church's pastor, Father Jean-Mary spoke about the long road towards this point as it took the church eight years of fundraising to make the dream come through.

The DuPuis Medical Office and Drug Store in Little Haiti was founded by Dr. John G. DuPuis in 1902. DuPuis was fondly called as the "Lemon Doctor". He constructed his medical office and drug store in the rural community of Lemon City four years after he arrived in South Florida. DuPuis (born in 1875 in Newnansville, Florida) was a prominent pioneer physician and founder of White Belt Dairy (later it became one of the area's largest dairies) and the Dade County Agricultural School (in 1915, later renamed Miami Edison). He treated Miamians during the yellow fever epidemic of 1899 and was one of the few white doctors trusted by the Seminole Indians. DuPuis Medical Office and Drug Store became a subject of historic preservation on July 2, 1985.

The Villa Paula since 1989 has been named the most haunted building in Miami. It was built in 1925 and the first inhabitants were Senior Don Domigo Milode and his wife Paula. Six years after they moved in, Paula died of an unfortunate complication that arose during her leg amputation. Ever since paranormal activities have been reported at the Villa. There have been reports of unexplainable knocking of the front door, mysterious death of cats, clamping of heels in the backyard and even to the extent of sightings of Paula. The Villa with all its beautiful Cuban decors is since the 90s is preferably left unoccupied, at least after sunset.

Churchill Pub in Little Haiti is a legendary place that has been around for over 35 years since 1979! It is the place where some of music's most influential artists have played when they were just young locals. If you want to enjoy live music like a true local, then this should be your place; it is off the beaten path.. It is on its own. Monday is a jazz night, but on any other night you can enjoy metal, punk, hip hop, indie rock, etc, etc. They serve cheap beers, good basic pub food, offer free parking and a great atmosphere --definite place to drink and have fun with friends. Churchill Pub has a light side of the bar where they host live musics and on its back part outside, open mike nights on Mondays are organized where some of the best performers from South Florida frequently visit and perform.
