Here is Lycée Toussaint Louverture renovated by IBT Group Haiti.

Inaugurations of the two schools, Lycée Alexandre Pétion' and 'Lycées Toussaint Louverture', destructed by the 2010 earthquake have taken place on October 8 and October 16, 2015, respectively. The rebuilding of these two institutions was possible under $15 million fundings from PetroCaribe and the reconstruction has been taken place by the multinational IBT group under the supervision of CSA Group appointed by the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation.

Here is the Lycée Toussaint Louverture inaugurated.

Twenty one classrooms will be used for the morning section and twenty two for the evening. It is a modern build which caters every contemporary need like a library, science laboratories, computer training center, a cafeteria, an auditorium and a mini football field of 836 square meters. On October 16, the school was inaugurated by President Martelly in the presence of the Haitian Prime Minister Evans Paul, Minister of National Education, Nesmy Manigat, the Minister of Planning, Yves Germain Joseph and other dignitaries and government officials.

Here is a picture of the Inauguration of renovated buildings of Lycée Toussaint Louverture.

With PetroCaribe help, Lycee (High School) Toussaint Louverture, at Quartier Ste-Anne, on the street of Saint-Honoré has been reconstructed and it was inaugurated by the Haitian President on October 16, 2016. The reconstruction of the school building, after the destruction of 2010 earthquake started in 2013. PetroCaribe is an oil alliance of several Caribbean states with Venezuela, founded on June 29, 2005, to purchase oil on conditions of preferential payment. The Board of PetroCaribe Management decides grant facility from its surplus fund to support projects that could directly improve the welfare of the most vulnerable member states. PetroCaribe granted a funding of US$15 million for the reconstruction of two schools: Lycées Toussaint Louverture and Alexandre Pétion and their reconstruction were carried on by the Haitian firm IBT group ($ 7 million was sanctioned for Lycée Toussaint Louverture, alone). These two projects were supervised by the CSA group under the management and control of the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation.

On an earlier occasion while launching the construction project of the Toussaint and this School in December 2013, the President had mentioned, education is the weapon that can open all doors to make your dreams come true and the government is there to support you in this endeavor.

Mr. Boniface Alexandre, a former President of the country during the transition period (2004 to 2006) after the departure of President Jean Bertrand Aristide, and a former student of the school was present during the occasion.

Here is a view of Lycee Alexandre Petion during the inauguration of its building in October 2015

The new building has a total 43 classrooms: out of which 16 are dedicated for primary section and 23 for secondary section accommodating about 2,600 students and 167 teachers. The school was almost destroyed during the 2010 earthquake; now it became functional once again with including multi-sports fields, five laboratories, cafeterias, and an auditorium with 250 seats.

During his speech for the occasion, the President mentioned 'Lycée Alexandre Pétion' as the first secular educational institution in the Caribbean. As the success of an educational institution depends on the participation of all, the new school calls for the supports of every part of the society. Now, the children of Bel-Air can attain the best education here, and the concept of building and running a successful educational institution in an impoverished area like Bel-Air should be understood by the countrymen as a model, an example which other disadvantaged areas in Haiti should follow where the children can learn about the modern technologies and inventions.

Here is a view inside of a classroom at Lycee Alexandre Petion during the inauguration of its new building

On Thursday, October 8th, 2015, the Haitian President Martelly accompanied by the First Lady Sophia Martelly, Prime Minister Evans Paul and several other ministers, including Nesmy Manigat, the Minister of National Education, and several hundred participants, went to inaugurate the new premises of 'Lycée Alexandre Pétion' in Bel-Air, Port-au-Prince. 'Lycée Alexandre Pétion' is the first secondary school in Haiti, founded in 1816 A.D. It was initially known as the Grand College of Port-au-Prince, but later the name was changed to its founder's name-- Alexandre Petion (2 April 1770 - 29 March 1818). The new premises covers an area of 9,400 square meters, and in 2016, it will celebrate its bicentennial year.

Here is a picture of Collège Mixte Le Bon Berger which is one of the architecture for Humanity.

Collège Mixte Le Bon Berger, or Good Shepherd School was a 12-grade school, which had six classrooms; it was built few years prior to the 2010 earthquake. The devastating earthquake destroyed it so badly that called for a total replacement. Its rebuilding effort was designed to reflect Montrouis' identity and passion for learning within an ideal Haitian ambiance. The phase one was completed in early 2012 and a new completed school was opened on February, 2013 with nearly 400 students. Since its reopening, it has brought national acclaim with continuous increasing enrollment. It was rebuilt with support from nonprofit organizations like Architecture for Humanity, the Stiller Foundation and Students Rebuild. Architecture for Humanity was a US-based charitable organization that used to provide architectural solutions to humanitarian crises (closed down in January 2015). Stiller Foundation was founded by Ben Stiller on a notion that all Haitian children deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential. Students Rebuild is a collaborative program of the Bezos Family Foundation that was formed following the 2010 Haitian earthquake.

Here is the construction plan for Lycées Alexandre Pétion and Toussaint Louverture.

Two private schools, Alexandre Petion and Toussaint Louverture, have been rebuilt after their destruction from the 7.0 magnitude earthquake. The two projects have been funded by PetroCaribe Fund at $15 million USD.

IBT Group Haiti did the construction work under the management of the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation.

Both schools will feature temperature controlled classrooms, auditoriums, language, science, and computer labs, along with libraries and sports fields.

Dignite is the name of a Haitian school bus company established in 1985. During the last academic year, the company has carried nearly 150,000 students every day in 86 provincial cities and 19 points in Port-au-Prince. Recently, on Tuesday 26th August, 2014, Castro Arboite, the Director of "Dignite" has announced the addition of 50 new buses over its present fleet of 257 buses spread across the ten departments providing free transportation to the school children. This addition of the fleet came as a result of the U.S$ 2 million donation assistance extended by the Government of South Korea on 3rd May 2013, to the Haitian government for purchase of 50 school buses over a period of two years. 'Dignite' has always been consistent to fulfill its mission of bringing students to their teaching places and return homes. Earlier, "Dignite" used to charge monthly fees for carrying students. In 2011, President Martelly decided to make this service free and sanctioned a yearly subsidy of 292 million gourdes to the company for maintaining its fleet for the operation

Centre d'Education Speciale (CES) or Centre for Special Education is the only free School for Children With Disabilities in Haiti.

The Centre d'Education Speciale (CES) is a special centre for the education and personal development of children suffering from various disabilities. The centre is situated in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti and is the only free school which focuses on the education of the disabled children. Their main aim is to contribute to the social integration of more than 15000 children with special needs, belonging to a disadvantaged social stratum every year. According to statistical reports, a large fraction of the students with disabilities are unable to afford even basic education in the country because of the high expenses of education. In such a scenario, the CES in a noble as well as novel initiative and it has drawn the attention of filmmaker Lena Jackson, who endeavors to make a film about the centre and its works.
