Senator Youri Latortue who was an adviser to president Michel Martelly admitted that PHTK had rigged the elections of August 9 and October 25, 2015. He is afraid the provisional president of Haiti, Jocelerme Privert is attempting to do the same thing that PHTK did by rigging the coming elections toward a particular group.

As per the news dated June 19, 2016, Youri Latortue, the Senator of Ayiti An Asyon (AAA) and former advisor to former President Martelly has finally admitted that Martelly's political party PHTK had rigged the elections on August 9 and October 25, 2015. And he did not stop here. He has further warned, he believes that President Jocelerme Privert is planning to rig the coming elections in favor a specific group in the same way as PHTK did". Youri Latortue is an outspoken senator and one of Haiti's most powerful politicians. He was a lieutenant in the Haitian Armed Forces (FADH). It is a known fact that he was involved in many of the political killings carried out during the 1991-94 coup, in particular the shooting of Father Jean-Marie Vincent in August 2004. According to the testimony and reports of many colleagues, Latortue is a gang godfather, drug-trafficker and death-squad leader. He is the big boss of Gonaïves who has helped bring down Haitian governments several times. In a 2007 cable published by Wiki Leaks, it was learned that U.S. Ambassador to Haiti Janet Sanderson described him as "the poster boy for political corruption in Haiti."

Senators Jean Renel Sénatus is one of the three members of Bureau d'Age responsible to validate the appointment of new Senators. He was a member of the minority group in the Senate (G9) who submitted his withdrawal from G9 in the second week of April, through a letter addressing the President Privert. In simple words, the reason for his withdrawal as was stated are, his integrity and ideology does not match the activities of the group of Youri Latortue.
Jean Renel Sénatus is also known by his crime-fighting nickname "Zokiki" for his struggle against juvenile delinquency. Youri Latortue is an ally of Haitian President Michel Martelly. This outspoken Senator is one of the Haiti's most powerful politicians. However, he was against the extension of Martelly's mandate till May 14, 2016. He is a leading advocate for reestablishing the demobilized Haitian Army and an alleged drug-trafficker, gangster, godfather, and a death-squad leader.

As the fourteen Senators were swearing in on January 11, 2016, two Validation Commissions were formed consisting three Senators each, who were responsible to verify the records of the newly elected officials. The Validation Commissions so employed, has asked to defer the validation of two newly elected Senators, Youri Latortue (President, Ayiti An Aksyon) and Jean Renel Sénatus (League Dessalinienne) until the CEP gives clear explanation on their method of clearances. The commission dismissed their validation under the pretext that they were improperly elected. If Youri Latortue was not barred from the Senate in this manner, could be one of the strongest and influential men inside the Senate. We would wait to see how these two candidates were elected to become Senators in the first round legislative election on August 9, 2015, with the authorization from both the CEP and BCEN.

In an article published in Haiti Liberte, in which based on revelations made by the Wikileaks cable, Senator Youri Latortue complained that the newspaper had gone beyond the revelations made by the Wikileaks cable to destroy his personality. Senator Youri Latortue rejected completely the charges and stated that he will file formal charges agains the newspaper
