The Commune of Carrefour benefited from a rehabilitation project that saw interest in the town of Mahotière grow significantly. The turn of tide was due to the fixing of the road which led to better conditions for traffic and saw the number of businesses and the value of homes increase in the area. The rebuilding effort, instigated in the 2010-2011 project by the government, also gave the town a more prolific nightlife.

Here is a sign of a real plan for development in Haiti. The Haitian government has a plan to improve traffic condition in Port-au-Prince.
They will to build motorways over Carrefour and Delmas to alleviate traffic in these areas. Funding for the project is available and work expected to start soon.

Built to house 390 children, The Centre d'accueil for Haiti street children provides training and a sense of responsibility to the children of Haiti.

Centre d'accueil was created in 1946 and receives funding from UNICEF in th amount of $461,000 a year.
