Haitian Government very generous toward his public servants, not his citizens

Do you know that each Haitian Senator costs Haitian Tax payers: $2,000,000.00 US a year, There are 30 Senator's seats for $60,000,000.00 a year.

The official residence for the Senate Speaker at Thomassin 25, costs the tax payers about $112,500.00 US annually in rent.

Did you know that each Haitian Deputy costs the Government $500,000 US a year. There are 119 deputies for $59,500,000

The residence occupied by the director general of the PNH cost the Haitian State about $96,000 US dollars a year.

The government under the Office of the Prime Minister is composed of the Prime Minister and several Cabinet Ministers. The Prime Minister has an official residence paid by the tax payers. amount unknown. Each minister receives $5,000.00 US monthly for a second residence or $60,000.00 a year. There are 20 Ministers for $1,200,000.00

A news in July recently ignited the social networks that the official residence of Senate Speaker Joseph Lambert at Thomassin 25, is costing 7.2 million gourdes (7,280,000 gourdes) annually. According to Senator Ricard Pierre, Joseph Lambert has paid the rent of his official residence, a sum of about 8 million gourdes for a year. These millions have been taken from the pockets of the poor Haitian citizens through the Senate budget. In response, Senate Speaker Joseph Lambert summoned accredited journalists to Parliament on July 16, 2018 and explained, if the Republic pays for an official residence for the head of state, an official residence for the prime minister, even the chief of police has an official residence, why not one for the president of the National Assembly, who is the second personage of the Republic. Is it not a matter of prestige?"

He justified his statement with a reference by reading the minutes of the Conference of Presidents held on Monday, March 5, 2018. This recording of the minutes was proposed by Artibonite's Carl Murat Cantave in the conference of presidents. Rony Célestin (born June 24, 1974) under PHTK banner is one of the 92 deputies who sworn in on January 10, 2016 and took office in the Lower House of the 50th Legislature under the constitution. He is a member of Oganizasyon Lavni (LAVNI) political party and by profession, he is an Accountant and Engineer. So far, the responsible offices that he had held include, Member of the Commission of Economy, Finance, Trade and Budget; Member of the Commission of Interior and Territorial Communities, Decentralization and border development; and Member of the Board of Tourism and Culture. He won the first round of legislative elections of August 9, 2015, (Senators and Deputies) with 64.84% votes from the Cerca la Source (Centre) constituency. In the March 2011 election, an opponent contestant from INITE political party complained that Rony and his supporters attacked one polling station and ripped most of the ballots, because Rony was afraid that his opponent might win. In March 2016, there was a rumor that he had received a Nissan Patrol 2015 car as gift from some undisclosed sources in the Ministry of Planning.

On February 14, 2016, despite his opposition to the candidacy of Senator Privert as the Interim President, Gary Bodeau, Deputy of Delmas asked the Interim President, together with Parliament, to give the country a consensus government, headed by a competent, honest and dynamic Prime Minister who should be supported by over 15 ministers and three secretaries of state which to be selected from the bodies of politicians and / or civil societies. Although Bodeau saluted Privert's coming to power, he was of opinion that Privert's accession to the presidency of parliamentary office was in contravention to the principle of separation of powers, against Articles 60 and 60.1 of the constitution. He requested his parliamentary colleagues to respect political ethics and have respect for the constitution of the country.

On Monday, January 11, 2016, Cholzer Chancy (born, 16 February, 1967) has been elected as the President of the Chamber of Deputies under the 50th Legislature for one year term by defeating Jerry Tardieu. He is a former deputy and a member of Ayiti An Aksyon (AAA) political group. He is a choice of President Martelly who won the first round election on August 9, 2015. Cholzer Chancy on becoming President of the lower Chamber, has announced that his priorities would be to decide on the burning issues before the country. To him, the fund allotments under the budgets should be done with proper prudence and effective measures to control budget expenditures should be strictly adhered to. He believes that it is the responsibility of the parliamentarians to improve their own image to the population.

Here Deputies Caleb Desrameaux and Gracia Delva.

Gracia Delva (born June 9, 1972) is a winning candidate for Deputy from Marchand Dessalines (Artibonite) under Haitian Tet Kale (PHTK) banner. He secured 61.06% of the votes in the August 9, 2015 election against his other contenders. He is a singer, Konpa maestro, actor, former MP, better known by his stage name as singer Gracia Delva Marchand-Dessalines. Gracia is one of the 8 members, including 4 PHTK candidates who were elected in the first round of election. His application for candidacy was initially rejected for delayed submission of "title to authentication". Caleb J. Desrameaux is a winning candidate for Deputy from Tabarre under VERITE banner. He is a TV star and radio personality with many appearances in movies and documentaries. Caleb is a former Communications Director of the Ministry of Tourism and Executive Director of TNH (Television Nationale D'Haiti) and he is a self proclaimed "Deputy of Culture". During his election campaign he had stressed that if he comes out as an elected Deputy, he will work to implement policies for the benefit of the youth.

Here is Sholzer Chancy, Deputy Ennery (AAA)

On the demand of some opposition candidates, the outgoing President Martelly appointed an Independent Electoral Evaluation Commission on December 22, 2015. The report released by the commission on January 3, 2016 clearly concludes that the October 25 election was tainted by irregularities at the polling stations benefitting several candidates through proxy voting and other fraudulent means, committed by their representatives. It further mentions that the Provisional Electoral Commission (CEP) does not have any credibility to hold a free and fair election in the country.

Here is Garry Bodeau, Deputy of Delmas (Bouclier)

'Delmas' is a district in the West of the capital city Port-au-Prince, an urban continuation of the capital city. With its population growth, economic and social developments, it became a town in 1982. As per 2009 Census, it is the home of 359,451 people within an area of 27.74 square kilometers. Its population is only 15.26% of the metropolitan area of which 54.04% are women. It is a residence dominated area of affluent people with some shopping centers and supermarkets. 'Delmas' is the richest part of the capital city. Two main roadways of 'Delmas' are Autoroute de Delmas and Boulevard de Toussaint Louverture. These roads are numbered in a systematic way: even numbers on the south side and odd numbers on the north side. The residential areas on the hills are very popular and thus 100% of the city is urban. By its economic system, standard of living, infrastructure quality, it is one of the most equipped and developed areas in the country.

Here is a picture of Alfredo Antoine, candidate for Chamber of Deputies in the 2015 Haiti election. According to Miami herald, Alfredo Antoine who is running under Haitian Prime Minister Evans Paul's KID political banner, previously spent three years in jail on forgery warrant.

Candidate for Chamber of Deputies in the 2015 Haiti election under the banner of Prime Minister Evan's the KID (Konvention Democratic Inité) has been arrested on July 30, 2015, at Lalue by the agents of BLTS (Brigade fight against narcotic trafficking). He was returning from a live morning radio show "Guest of the Day" on Radio Vision 2000 program which consisted of a face-to-face talks between him and his opponent, Nathalie Mondésir, under the banner of the UNITE party. Previously Alfredo had spent three years in jail on forgery warrant. BLTS, a specialized unit of the Haitian National Police, acted on an April 2015 forgery warrant, picked him up and carted him off to jail.

The Minister charged to manage relations between the Parliament and Executive, Ralph Theano was ordered to leave the Chamber by President Jean Tholbert Alexis. This was the result of problems between the Minister and some members of PRI, a block in opposition to the government at the Chamber of Deputy.

Urinating in the Street in Haiti

The unsuspecting traveler to Haiti may be in for quite a shock when he or she notices for the first few times Haitian men, women and children relieving themselves on the side of the roads. While most will not know what to take away from this, public urination is quite common in Haiti where there are no public restroom facilities. While travelers are prompted to use the toilets in restaurants and hotels, Haitians will use nature with some women even dressing for the eventuality.
