Wax statue of Dany Laferrière unveiled at the Grevin Museum in Montreal
The wax statue of the son of Petit-Goâve, Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Montreal, Quebec, Canada and France, Dany Laferrière was unveiled at the Grevin Museum in Montreal.
Canadian-Haitian author Dany Laferriere has had a wax statue of his likeness exhibited at Montreal's Grevin Museum.
Recently inducted into the French Academy in Paris, he came to witness the unveiling. He has been enthroned alongside other greats, Jean Drapeau, Marilyn Monroe, and Elvis Presley.
French Consul General Laurendeau said Laferriere was a ". . . keen observer of everyday life, he seized situations and characters . . . described with great accuracy . . ."
