The Executive Director of Haitian women in Miami, Ms. Marlene Bastien, also an activist is calling on the Obama administration to create Family Reunification Parole Program for Haitians as it is estimated that more than 105,000 Haitians are currently on a waiting list to enter the US.

The Haitian activist mentioned that a Cubans Family Reunification Parole Program has already been approved twice and that the Haitians need to receive same treatments

UN Wants A Halt In Haitian Deportation

According to a spokes person for the United Nation high commission, Haiti is currently not in measure to provide for the basic needs of the people currently being deported and the UN is looking for a halt in the deportation of Haitians from countries such as Dominican Republic, the Bahamas and the US. The UN would prefer that those scheduled to be deported be analyzed on a case by case basis for their ability to deal with the current condition in Haiti.
