Lucie Tondreau, Mayor of North Miami
Here is a picture of the Haitian-American Lucie Tondreau who became the first Haitian woman elected Mayor of the city of North Miami. She wan second round of municipal elections against the former Mayor of the City, Kevin Burns.
Lucie Tondreau is from La Vallee de Jacmel. She and her family left Haiti under the dictatorship of Duvalier.
She studied in Montreal and then moved to Miami in 1986.
Harry LaRosiliere first Haitian-American Mayor of Plano, Texas
Harry LaRosiliere has become the first Haitian-American and the first Black to be elected as mayor of Plano, Texas, one of the largest cities in the state. He wan over the popular Republican Party Chair Fred Mosesare by over 20 percent in May, 2013
Harry LaRosiliere was only three years when he arrived in the US from Haiti with his family. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from City College of New York. He moved to Plano, Texas in 1994, and worked as a financial advisor.
Harry LaRosiliere has his wife Tracy and their two daughters, ages 15 and 13. He has membership at the Plano Metro Rotary Club and the Plano Chamber of Commerce.
Noramie Jasmin and Joseph Desmaret arrested on Corruption
Here is a picture of Spring Valley Mayor Noramie Jasmin and Deputy Mayor Joseph Desmaret.
In April, 2013, the FBI arrested them and charging both Spring Valley Mayor Noramie Jasmin and Deputy Mayor Joseph Desmaret for accepting bribes in a sale of village land deal. According to the complaint, Mayor Varamie Jasmin demanded an ownership stake in action.
The FBI was also able to put their hands on many other authorities involved in the corruption case, including Senat Malcolm Smith, D-Queens, and New York City Councilman Dan Halloran, a Queens Republican

A current teacher at the University of Florida, Yves Colon is also a graduate from the same University, with Masters in Arts. He is the co-founder of the Haitian Times, a Haitian newspaper in the English language.

Haitian-American Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) in Haiti
The Haitian-American violinist and conductor Daniel Bernard Roumain will be in Haiti on this weekend for a concert. He will be spending about a week in the country to work on an upcoming music album with Emeline Michel.
Although Daniel Bernard Roumain is an artist of international renown, he has not been so popular in Haiti or among Haitians. Known mainly under the label of DBR, he is a skilled composer, performer, violinist, and band-leader. DBR is especially known for blending funk, rock, hip-hop and classical music.
Daniel Bernard Roumain was born in the United States of Haitian parents. He attended Dillard Center for the Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, received an undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music and a doctorate in musical composition from the University of Michigan.
Marie St. Fleur Haitian-American from Massachusetts
One of the successful Haitins in the United States is Marie St. Fleur. She was a Massachusetts Stated Representative and now occupies a powerful position as a top aide to Mayor of the city of Boston, Thomas Menino.
