Noramie Festa Jasmin made History when she became the first woman Mayor of the Village of Spring Valley New York. She also made another history by becoming the first Haitian-American mayor in New York.

Before becoming Mayor of Spring Valley in New York, Noramie Festa Jasmin was a trustee and a deputy Mayor. Since the foundation of this town of Spring Valley in 1902, she is in record to be the only woman to hold the title of of Mayor
