Haitian version of Shakespeare's Antony & Cleopatra
Haiti at a pivotal point of transformation--a fitting setting for the story of Marc Anthony and Cleopatra, the star-crossed, tempestuous lovers whose affair blazed bright and hot during a time of shifting regime's within Egypt's shared history with Rome. The old story with a new look will take to the stage of Miami Beach's Colony Theatre from January 10, to February 9. The story, which culminates at the final battle of the Haitian Revolution, where Cleopatra will famously take her own life, was penned by actor and award-winning dramatist, Tarell Alvin McCraney.
Haitian Comedian Maxine Clerge or Pe Maximo
Many true geniuses in any field go about creating masterpieces outside the notice of the public. The same can said to be true for the seriously underrated comedic talent that is Maxime Clerge. Also known as Pe Maximo, Clerge is most recognized for his stand up comedy show in which he performs as various politicians from Haiti's past, including Emmanuel Charlemagne and President Jean Bertrand Aristide, equipped with impressive, mostly uncanny voice impressions that leave the crowd in stitches.
Festival of the Sea Promoting North Department Tourism
Dieudonne Étienne, Minister of Tourism in North Department, inaugurated the Festival of the Sea pre-event ceremony in Cap-Haitien, site of the festival. The 2013 theme is "Let's Keep Our Beaches Clean!" Attending were Cap-Haitien's mayor and the Tourist Association and Chamber of Commerce presidents.
In her remarks, Étienne invited all tourism officials and employees to participate in the Festival. She emphasized the potential for small- and medium-size companies to benefit from the marketing of North Department as a prime vacation spot for tourists.

Oficial reinstatement of Haitian State Lottery
On the day of official reinstatement of the Haitian State Lottery, President Michel Martelly announced that the LEH which lay shut down for 14 years was reopened because he promised to do so during his election campaigns. He stressed on the fact that with proper management of the Gambling Sector, Haiti and benefit from the positive sides of safe and responsible gambling. He also greeted the National Association of Keepers of Borlette for coordinating the gambling sector in the absence of LEH.

The Haitian State Lottery of the LEH was reopened on Tuesday, July 2, 2013. LEH was closed 14 years ago on account of socio-political upheaval. The President of Haiti, Michel Martelly, officially reopened the Haitian State Lottery. The primary objective behind reinstating the LEH is to promote responsible and safe gambling that can help the Haitian economy to grow through its various benefits. The state agency called Housed Pacot will be in charge of the regulatory administration and function control of the LEH and will promote safe sale of lottery while promoting responsible participation.

The Haitian State Lottery of the LEH that was reopened on July 2, 2013 aims towards promoting safe lottery sale and responsible gambling and will help Haiti's economic growth through creation of jobs - both direct and indirect. The target is to normalize gambling in Haiti and to modernize the LEH establishment through implementation of ample computerized systems. The Ministry of Economy and Finance will provide necessary support and resources to LEH for proper functioning.
