This is the first time that Haiti national carnival is taking place in Cap-Haitian. we have some of the most popular musical bands included in the list. Tey are: Ambyans, Barikad Crew, Brothers Posse, Carimi, Djakout # 1, Koudjay, Kreyòl La, Rockfam, Septentrional, T-Micky, T-Vice, Team Lòbòy, Tropicana and Vwadèzil.
Cap-Haitian in 1881
Here is a picture of the City of Cap-Haitian in the year 1881.
This is one of the most historic cities in Haiti. The city had several other names in the past such as Cap-Français, Cap-Henri, and le Cap. This was the most important city during the colonial period for France
The city was founded in 1711 as the capital of Haiti until 1770 when the capital was moved to Port-au-Prince.
It was also the first capital of the Kingdom of Northern Haiti under King Henri Christophe.

This is a celebration of Haiti Flag back in the 1960s.
Former minister of health and labor François Duvalier, known as "Papa Doc" became the president of Haiti
He was president of Haiti from 1957 until his death in 1971.
Francois Duvalier was able to remain in power until his death by enlisting an organization known as Tontons Macoutes, also known as "Bogeymen". Tonton Macoutes were responsible to maintain order by terrorizing the populace.

Brothers Posse - and its Kanaval 2013
Here is a picture of Brothers Posse. This is the musical band that managed to become very critical to President Michel Martelly specially in Carnival 2012 and 2013.
There were sosme issues in 2013 as to whether or not to let Brothers Posse participate in National Kanaval in Cap-Haitien. Obviously, the Government did not like the idea to let Brothers Posse to make things harder for them.
Posse who made a popular Kanaval this year to be excluded from the list.
Jacmel Carnival
Here is one of the famous masks in a Jacmel Carnival.
You can see at that time the artwork of so many artists in the city, including hundreds of huge colorful masks made with paper mache that are amazingly decorated.
The city of Jacmel is one of the major production centers for beautiful Haitian arts and crafts.
