Edith Lefel, The Caribbean Diva
Well after her death, Edith Lefel remains the darling of the Caribbean and a voice for the Caribbean music. She died suddenly at age 39, from a heart attack.
The last three music albums that Edith Lefel released before her death include: A fleur de peau, The Best of Edith Lefel, and Si seulement. Her death came to the surprise of many and the French-speaking diaspora in particula. The sentiments were felt all over the world. It generated an outpouring of cards and letters, expressing grief at the passing of such an extraordinary talent.

The Nobel Peace winner for his peacemaking efforts in Central America does not think it would be a good thing for President Michel Martelly to return with the disbanded Haiti Military. He stated that would be an error. He suggested for the money to be invested instead on education, health and strengthening other institutions.
Michel Martelly wants to return with Haiti military to provide security and control Haiti's border with the Dominican Republic.

Here is a picture of Jocelyne Labylle who received a music Awards in 1998 for Best Caribbean album. This Zouk artist is a pleasure just to hear hher singing. I would say in all honesty tha Jocelyne Labylle has the most beautiful voice in all the Caribbean islands.
Her lyrics depict everyday stories. Her voice, once you hear it tends to stay with you forever.

Pierre Raymond Dumas nominated to become Minister of Culture in Haiti
In a new alliance with the INITE platform, the Government has nominated Pierre Raymond Dumas to become the next Minister of Culture. He will fill the position left vacant by Mr. Henriquez who passed away recently due to illness.
With the nomination of Pierre Raymond Dumas in the position of Minister of Culture in Haiti, UNITE has filled a total of three positions in the new government: Culture and Communication, Environment and Social Affairs.
President Michel Martelly in Caracas, Venezuela for First CELAC Summit
The first Summit of Heads of States and Governments of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) took place in Caracas, Venezuela.
Michel Martelly who attended, took the opportunity to meet Hugo chavez and thank the Venezuelan government for fuel shipments to Haiti via Petro-Caribe Agreement.
The Venezuelan government sent thousands of tons of food aid in the aftermath of the quake.
