Haitian Police Horse back riding
Here is a picture of the new Police in Haiti. Several police Officers were detected horse back riding. This is in the objective to provide better security to the population.
For the past several years, Haiti National Police has has contributed tremendously in the improvement of security in Haiti.
With this new approach, having some Police officers policing some neighborhoods on Horse will further improve security
Haitian National Police Academy Graduates Class of 1,058
The National Police of Haiti (NPH) has graduated its first class of cadets, 1,058; 111 of them female.
The long-term goal of Development Plan 2012-2016 NPH is to have 15,000 police on the streets in Haiti by 2016. In order to achieve this, the NPH Academy must graduate 1,000 police cadets each year.
Present at the ceremony to congratulate the 24th Promotion Class were President Martelly, Parliament leaders, government ministers, and NPH senior officers.

POLITOUR to help Haiti bring in More Tourist Dollars
Haitian Commissioner, Carl Boucher, has created Haiti's first tourist police, POLITOUR. The first graduation class of 27 tourist police will be sent to North Department. They will be responsible for protecting all tourist spots and places of tourist activity.
POLITOUR will educate tourists on cultural and historical places of note. It will be both a presence to deter crime, and goodwill agency to encourage more tourist dollars to flow into Haiti.

The Enold Florestal case is a mass of contradictions being played out before the public.
Judge Belizaire swore out an arrest warrant on Florestal, and police took him into custody. But was there police brutality or not?
Public Safety Secretary Delva posted photoshopped images on the Internet showing Florestal's bruises.
Also, some say Florestal was not at the scene of Dureaseau's murder, but at an emergency ward.
Delva apologized when the images were verified as photoshopped.
Haiti Police SWAT Team
The Haitian National Police's specialized SWAT unit recently celebrated its 17th anniversary in the presence of Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe who brought with him the commendation of President Martelly. He disclosed in a briefing that, through the efforts of the SWAT team and the wider Haitian Police, safety is improving in the country. The instances of crimes of violence, including kidnappings, have gone down due to the continued patrolling of the streets, preventing criminals from finding locations to operate.
Community Policing in Haiti
The impending batch of Community Police Officers, mainly sourced from the 23rd Promotion of the Haitian National Police, await graduation and the call of duty at the end of June. Set to serve in the Delmas region of Port-au-Prince, the members of the special community unit will be the link between police and civilians and will hopefully bring about a change towards trust between the community and the PNH. Recruited in 2012, the batch of 40, whittled down from 150, has undergone rigorous physiological and intellectual testing to qualify.
University of Ethnology - Faculte D'ethnologie

In 2013, students at the University of Ethnology Battled Police Over Student Killing. For some unknown reasons, it was reported that the Haitian National Police (HNP) fired at and killed a student on the University of Haiti school grounds.
Upset by the killing, Ethnology students started a demonstration against the killing. When the HNP arrived, they fired at length on the demonstrators to scatter them. HNP's behavior suggests Haiti still has remnants of a military government in its midst.
