Here is a picture of the few remaining boats that serve the people of Boman for transportation. Only a few time during the week, some of the people leave the island to shop in the main land and also to sell their products.

The people of Boman have no access to any govenrmental services unless they travel to the main land

This is a picture of the island of Boman. As you can see the entire island is made of shells. It would be very difficult for the residents in the island to have a balanced diet. It is not easy for the people to get in the main land of Haiti unless they use their Bois Fouye or one of the few small boats available.

Here is a picture of the fishes the population uses to feed themselves. It is the main and often the only food products used by the residents of Boman. The land of Boman is made of sea shells and as a result, nothing grows there

This is an island in Haiti only a few people have heard about. As to actually visit the island, almost no one I know has been there.

The people in the Island of Boman have managed to develop their own way of life. They survive mainly on seafood. They use canoes made by way of logs that they use for their fishing activities. All these people have are the sun and the sea

Other than the residents who live in the island of Boman, there are nothing else. It is deprived from most of the basic necessities, including running water and sanitation system. There is no communication system there, no churches, schools or clinics to serve the population

The fishermen are living on a day to day. They don't have any kind of refrigeration system for the fish they caught

One thing that is very distinct to the island of Boman is that the entire island is made exclusively of sea shells.

One of teh most important structures in the Isle of Boman is its Lighthouse. The lighthouse is being powered by solar energy.

Other than this, everything else in the island is natural

Welcome to the Isle of Boman in Haiti. This small fishing island is located in Petite Riviere De Nippes in Haiti. The total population is no more than 500 people, comprising of about 200 fishermen living with their families. The living condition in Boman is hard for the resedents.
