Livres en Folies has reached a level never seen before in Haiti. Every year, there are new writers requesting to particilate. It is a place for writers to expose their new books.
It is being held this year at Heritage Park Cane a Sucre. This is their 16th edition of Books Madness
The Fair is a joint venture between Unibank and Nouvelliste. In 2013, it was noted more than 1,075 titles were on sale. I tis a bargain as prices are reduced to sometimes more than 40%

This annual event Livres en Folie is held between May and June. One very good objective of the event is bringing culture and literature to the mass. Lives en Folie also stimulates Haitian writers, encouraging them to create more. Local writers as well as those living in the diaspora come together to participate in this annual event.

Livres en Folies is being held every year. The first edition of Livres was held in Petion-Ville at La Promenade. From La Promenade, Livres en Folie event changed to Cercle Bellevue in Bourdon. By 2012, the event moved to Parc Historique de la Canne à Sucre at Tabarre.

Haitian Writer, Dr. Pradel Pompilus

One of the most respected Haitian scholars, Dr. Pradel Pompilus was born in 1914 and passed away in 2000. He was a writer, teacher, grammarian and linguist, best known for his study of Haitian literature.

Dr. Pradel Pompilus was born in Arcahaie, studied law, was professor of French and Latin. He became one of the first Haitian scholars in Paris and in 1957

Dr. Pompilus was then appointed professor of literature at the University of S State of Haiti and was a teacher at Ecole Normale Supérieure during 1980s. He was one of the Haitian writers who put Haitia creole at a high level. He deserves deep respect for his contribution to the Haitian literature

Louis-Philippe Dalembert, Haitian poet and novelist

Haitian poet and novelist Louis-Philippe Dalembert was born on December 8, 1962 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti
He writes in both French and Haitian creole. The son of a school teacher and principal, Louis-Philippe Dalembert spent his early childhood in Bel-Air, Haiti. He grew up with extended families like his mother's cousins, his elder sister, his great-aunts and his maternal grandmother. Louis-Philippe Dalembert first job was working as a journalist. He moved to France in 1986 and obtained a PhD in comparative literature. He has resided in Nancy, Paris, Rome, Jerusalem, Brazzaville, Kinshasa and Florence

Novelist and poet, Lyonel Trouillot

This is Lyonel Trouillot who was born in Port-au-Prince , Haiti , on 31 December 1956.

He is a novelist and poet expressions Creole and French.

Lyonel Trouillot studied law due to family pressure but soon realized that his passion was in writing literature. He is a regular writer in several newspapers in the country. Poet, he also published many poems. some of his works are put into music such as song lyrics for artists like Manno Charlemagne and Tambou Libète. Plolitically, he was also involved in several fights to restore democracy in Haiti. He was made Chevalier of Arts and Letters in June 2010 .
