The Caribbean
The Caribbean has the sort of past that seems made for the harsh reminders found in history books and the quixotic harkening of fiction. Found in the Caribbean Sea, the islands of the Caribbean all share common pasts that are linked through the slave trade. The similarities can be found in certain aspects of the arts, religion and cuisine, where they all merge from the congruent African descent. Where they differ, and what makes the Caribbean still such a diverse place even amongst itself, is the added influence from around the world that has shaped each country individually.
