Haiti holds a special place in the hearts of Bill and Hillary Clinton. When they were married in 1975, one of their friends presented a honeymoon vacation in Haiti for them and it was an eye opening journey. Once in an interview Bill Clinton said Hillary and I share the same memories, same concerns and we both love the place and always feel a special responsibility for Haiti and its people. The Clinton Foundation alone has directed $36 million to Haiti since 2010. Another $55 million has been spent through the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund. Clinton Foundation led the Haitian reconstruction effort following the devastating earthquake and vowed to help the country "build back better," so that if any disaster struck the country, it can respond in a more efficient and quicker way. In 2009, Clinton visited Haiti when places around Gonaives, were devastated by hurricane damage in 2008. Since the 2010 earthquake Clinton had visited Haiti a number of times to oversee his foundation's work and the reconstruction effort carried on by several other organizations. In May 2010, during his first joint trip with George Bush, it was noticed that George W. Bush wiped his hand on Bill Clinton's shirt after shaking hands with a crowd of Haitians.

Hillary Clinton, What Happened In 2012 Benghazi Attack

Hillary Clinton, What Happened In 2012 Benghazi Attack

On September 11, 2012, some Islamic extremists launched a terrorist attack on U.S. compounds in Benghazi, Libya, killing Ambassador Chris Stevens and U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith. Several hours later, a second assault targeted a different compound about one mile away, killing CIA contractors Tyrone S. Woods and Glen Doherty. Following the attack, United Nations' U.S. ambassador, Susan Rice, explained on a television program that the attack was in some way, a response to protests to an anti-Islam video (Innocence of Muslims). Hillary Clinton, being the Secretary of State subsequently took the responsibility of the security lapse at the compound. On November 7, 2012, Judicial Watch filed Freedom of Information (FOI) Act request on Benghazi with State Department and ultimately, they sued on September 4, 2014, for not complying with the request. Later, Judicial Watch obtained certain files that show that State Department officials under Hillary Clinton¡¯s command blatantly lied about the attack. It was never an escalation of a demonstration against an absurd YouTube video. A group of extremists with AK 47 in hand, burst through the fortified front gate of the U.S outpost and the diplomatic compound and a covert CIA base a mile away which were partially reduced to rubble by mortar fire. In April 2016, it was further revealed that Turkish officials provided intelligence on the attack and offered to ¡°shelter¡± Americans in the Benghazi residence of the Turkish Consul General. Before attending the arrival ceremony for the remains of those killed in Benghazi, Hillary promised Tyrone Woods¡¯s father ¡°we are going to have the filmmaker arrested who was responsible for the death of your son

Hillary Clinton, the email controversy

Hillary Clinton, the email controversy

When Hillary Clinton was campaigning as a presidential candidate in March 2015, it became publicly known that she used personal email addresses connected to a privately-owned server, rather than government email accounts maintained on secured federal servers. Because, she thought that it would enable her to reach people quickly and keep in regular touch with her family and friends more easily. As per investigation report, the clintonemail.com domain was established on January 13, 2009, but as per Hillary's statement, she began using the private server for government business since March 18, 2009. It is a fact that the laws, regulations, and the State Department policy in place during her tenure say she was in compliance with the laws and regulations at that time. In fact, more than 90% of those emails (30,490 ¡°work-related¡± emails to the State Department totaling 55,000 printed pages) have already been captured in the State Department¡¯s email system before she provided them with paper copies. Presently, her best defense is, she held the office of 67th United States Secretary of State between January 21, 2009 ¨C February 1, 2013 and the law to forward all work-related email through the federal server was enacted by President Obama on November 26, 2014, after Hillary Clinton departed the State Department on February 1, 2013. However, on March 10, 2015, it was learned that the 31,830 emails which she deleted herself were, as per her statement, ¡°private

Hillary Clinton's brother and Haiti gold mine permit raises eyebrows

Hillary Clinton's brother and Haiti gold mine permit raises eyebrows

Hillary Rodham Clinton's brother Tony Rodham became a board member of VCS Mining when the company was granted a lucrative 5-year permit to mine gold in Haiti. The permit was the first to be granted in over 50 years with a privilege to renew the mining project in Morne Bossa for up to 25 years. One of the factors that raised eyebrows was the timing of the permit. The exceptional permit was issued two years after the earthquake when major relief works in Haiti were carried on by Tony's brother-in-law former President Bill Clinton¡¯s own foundation through Haiti Recovery Commission. The deal was controversial, because Haiti has an estimated gold reserve of $20 billion and the Haitian government was agreed to accept a royalty rate from the VCS Mining which was at least half the standard rate at 2.5%. Another VCS board member was Jean-Max Bellerive, a former Haitian prime minister who also co-chaired the same Haiti Recovery Commission; he was involved to persuade Haitian Senators to support the project. Tony Rodham is the youngest brother of Hillary Rodham Clinton. He is a former prison guard, private detective and a former repo man who used to work to secure foreign financing for a company.

The Clinton's accused for wasting Haiti recovery fund

The Clinton's accused for wasting Haiti recovery fund

Six years after the earthquake, a majority of Haiti is still in disrepair. In last March, some Haitians protested outside of the Clinton Foundation in New York. As per their claim 'Clinton Foundation' has stolen ¡°billions of dollars¡± which was meant to help rebuild Haiti after the devastating 2010 earthquake. In an earlier protest in January, they had alleged that the Foundation wasted money more than $10 billion and awarded contracts to non-Haitian companies where Haiti was used as a cover to receive kickbacks. The activists claimed that Bill Clinton stole that amount of money through the 'Haiti Reconstruction Commission' which was headed by none other than himself and the evidence of these crimes, over 32,000 emails, were deleted by Hillary Clinton from her email account which was connected to a privately-owned server, instead of government email accounts maintained on secured federal servers. A book published in March 2015, was titled as "Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich.¡± The book investigates the connections between the Clintons' wealth, the Clinton Foundation, and decisions Hillary Clinton made as the Secretary of State.

Hillary Clinton Stopped Haiti from Increasing Minimum Wage

Hillary Clinton Stopped Haiti from Increasing Minimum Wage

Haiti supplies the U.S tons of affordable clothing from big-name brands like Levi¡¯s, Hanes and Polo. Its main advantage over other countries is not only its proximity to the U.S, Haiti's people work for peanut; they work for slave wages, less than $5 a day and the U.S clothing manufacturers, outsource their manufacturing to places like Haiti specifically because they can get away with paying slave wages. Recently, New York and California adopted a $15 statewide minimum wage and both the Democratic presidential candidates, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, had advocated extending the policy nationwide. However, Hillary had a different take on Haiti on wage increase. In 2009, when Bill Clinton was setting up one of his family¡¯s shell companies in New York, during that same year, Hillary was at the State Department working with U.S. corporations to pressure Haiti not to increase its minimum wage from 27 cents to 61 cents per hour and decided to get the U.S. Department of State involved to try and pressure Haiti¡¯s government to keep the wage raise down. In 2011, their mission was successful, the factory owners were agreed to pay only 31 cents per hour or about $2.50 a day, instead of 62 cents or $5 a day. People from the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere continued to work for worse slave wages than they otherwise would have, all so U.S. corporations could take home higher profits. As of 2008, Hanes employed 3,200 Haitians for $2 a day and paid about 1.6 million per year. Hanesbrands Inc made $211 million profit on $4.3 billion in sales in 2008 --- the profit is nearly 132 times more than what they paid to poor Haitian workers. Hillary truly deserves big thanks from the U.S clothing manufacturers.

Recently, between May 4th and 6th, several representatives of the Clinton Foundation visited Haiti to explore possible opportunities and new markets for Haitian craft products. The foundation members met several Haitian artisans, entrepreneurs and small business owners, representing retail, fashion and manufacturing sectors. Since the 2010 earthquake, the Clinton Foundation has remained committed to Haiti's long-term recovery by focusing on economic development and job creation by highlighting Haiti's unique art and handicraft products that are part of the Haitian tradition. The foundation helps Haitian artisans to expand their operation through improved production facilities and process by strategic assistance. The Haitian craft sector is one of the most neglected sectors, almost overlooked by the Haitian administration.

BILL CLINTON Apology For Forcing Haiti To Drop Tariffs On Imported Rice

BILL CLINTON Apology For Forcing Haiti To Drop Tariffs On Imported Rice

Former US President who was one of the architects to provide subsidies to US farmers and presently the Co-chairperson of Haiti's earthquake recovery Commission has now realized that such policy was a 'mistake'--it has not worked in Haiti. There is no doubt that reduced food price was unquestionably a necessity because it allowed people to eat, but at the same time price reductions have also negatively affected rural Haitians. During the 1980's Haiti was self sufficient in rice, but today it imports 60% of its overall food supply and 80% of its rice from US because it is cheaper to import than produce. The farmers during the harvest season are sitting idle in the fertile valleys; dumped foreign rice in the Haitian market has eclipsed Haitian production, farmers are jobless. Huge subsidies received by US farmers have unfairly deflated international prices. As a result poorer nations are finding it difficult to get self-sufficient and develop their economies by expanding markets abroad.
