Former journalist and appointed Haitian Culture Minister Choiseul Henriquez died

Choiseul Henriquez, the new Minister of Culture and Communication, died of a brain hemorrhage on Friday while in Ottawa. Prior to his urgent transfer to a Hospital in Ottawa in Canada, Choiseul Henriquez was hospitalized at the Canape Vert Hospital in Port-au-Prince.

Choiseul was nominated to serve as minister of culture and communication in October. However, he was never sworn in due to health problems. Prior to the nomination, he was press secretary during the Preval presidency and Henriquez was also a journalist.

Titanyen Burial Site For The 2010 Haiti Earthquake

Here is a picture of Titanyen Burial site for the 2010 Haiti earthquake. Tens of thousands of bodies were buried at Titanyen following the devastating earthquake that took the lives of more than 200,000 people in Haiti.

Titanyen is located north of port-au-Prince, about eight km from the city of Cabaret. The site was chosen to as mass grave for the victims of the earthquake.
