Voodoo Priests killed in Haiti over Cholera Fears

Following the Cholera outbreak in Haiti, it was reported that Voodoo priests were being lynched by mobs who blame them for spreading cholera.

By December, 2010, at least 45 Voodoo priests were killed across Haiti due to accusations they are using "black magic" to spread cholera. People being stoned, hacked, lynched, set on fire and attacked with machetes.

The latest violence erupted out of fears by may in the population that traditional Voodoo priests were using their powers to spread the Cholera infection

On Wednesday, December 16, 2015, the Executive members of the Commission of Electoral Evaluation have appointed Euvonie Georges Auguste as a member of 'Commission of Electoral Evaluation' created by the President and Evans administration. However, the political platform ' Renmen Ayiti' to which she belongs has denounced this appointment and has asked Mambo Euvonie, to renounce her participation in the commission, as the formation of this Commission is contrary to the request of the G8 group which called for an independent commission of inquiry and a transitional government, to properly investigate the fraud allegations of the October election and to hold new and fair elections. Jean Henry Ceant was a member of the G8 and the presidential candidate in the last election under ' Renmen Ayiti' banner.

Voodoo Priest Alcenat Zamor was elected last Thursday to become the new National Ati in Haiti, replacing Max Beauvoir who passed away recently. Alcenat is a 60 year old Houngan from the town of Gros Morne. He was elected unanimously by nembers of the National Confederation of Haitian Vaudouisants (KNVA). Alcenat Zamor was presented to the public as the new Voodoo chief by the acting Ayi, Mambo Euvonie Georges

Voodoo Priest Has Sex with Underage Girl to Remove Bad Spirits

On June 19, 2015, a voodoo priest named Brogenet Cinor (48) was arrested by the Sunrise police on a charge of sexual battery. The voodoo priest used his position to have sex with multiple women and a minor girl below 12 years of age. He used to exploit the victims' beliefs in voodoo and curses, if they do not follow the priest's instruction and cleanse themselves, they might die. According to the report, these incidences occurred sometime in the 2009 and 2010, but were never reported before September, last year. The tactics that Cinor used to follow was, he used to tell the women devotees, they have been possessed by evil spirits or curse unless they cleanse their sins by seeing him romantically, they would die. Some of the women even got pregnant. Cinor had even paid for terminating their pregnancies.
