Jean-Max Bellerive, Haitian politician

Jean Max Bellerive is a former prime minister, who served under Rene Preval. He was born in Port-au-Prince in 1958, to a well-known doctor. His father sent him to study in Europe in Switzerland, France, and Belgium, where Bellerive earned two degrees in political Science and International Relations.

Bellerive replaced Prime Minister Michele Pierre-Louis unable to competently carry out her duties. When President Martelly took office Bellerive resigned to permit Martelly to appoint his own prime minister
