Political operative Nacivre Charles, better known as "Charlie," is under fire and under investigation by the State Attorney's Office.

Some how, this investigation is involving current Mayor of North Miami Mayor Lucie Tondreau. According to the report, Nacivre Charles was Lucie Tondreau campaign treasurer earlier this year.

In early November, North Miami elected its new mayor, Dr. Smith Joseph. As a candidate for the seat, and winner by a slight margin, Mayor Joseph is no stranger to the influential commentary often found on Haitian talk radio. One such program is that featuring Nelson Voltaire, more popularly known as Pimon Bouk, whose influence over the listening diaspora was felt last year when, just before the run-offs, he influenced thousands of Haitians within the community, in Creole, to vote Haitian. With the might of Haitian radio behind them, it is no wonder so many of the Haitian community become elected officials.

Signal FM Radio Honored by North Miami Mayor Lucie Tondereau

North Miami mayor, Lucie Tondereau, flew to Haiti on an invitation by the government. The reason for the visit is her electoral victory due to media support.

Signal FM Radio was honored by Tondereau for its part in influencing her win.

At an awards ceremony, during her speech, Tondereau said channel 90.5 has the largest audience among the Diaspora. Tondereau then presented the award plaguette to station owner, Mario Viau, thanking him.

Lucie Tondreau, Mayor of North Miami

Here is a picture of the Haitian-American Lucie Tondreau who became the first Haitian woman elected Mayor of the city of North Miami. She wan second round of municipal elections against the former Mayor of the City, Kevin Burns.

Lucie Tondreau is from La Vallee de Jacmel. She and her family left Haiti under the dictatorship of Duvalier.

She studied in Montreal and then moved to Miami in 1986.
