Effective June 9, 2011, Continental Airlines will Fly toToussaint L'Ouverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday directly from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey to Port-au-Prince with plan to increase their flight to Haiti in the future.

One of the largest U.S. airlines has decided to start flying to haiti. Continental Airlines flights will leave New Jersey at 9:25 a.m. and arrive in Port-au-Prince at 12:15 p.m. Their return flight will leave Haiti at 1:20 p.m. to arrive at Newark Liberty International Airport at 6:15 p.m.

With its decision to begin carrying passengers to Haiti, Continental Airlines has become the new kid on the block in providing airline transportation to the Haitian public. What will this mean to the flyin public?

Traveling from the U.S. to Haiti is relatively a short destination for the airlines however, sometimes it is cheaper to fly from U.S. to Europe than to Haiti.
