Here is a photo of Port-au-Prince Cathedral - Haiti Earthquake - January 12, 2010. The epicenter of the Haiti earthquake was located 16 miles from Port-au-Prince. One year later, about 500 refugee camps still existed in Port-au-prince. Rape and common crimes in refugee camps were common, where 230 such cases were reported in the first six month after the earthquake

Here is a picture of the Cathedral of Port au-Prince after it was destroyed by the earthquake. A new archbishop was elected by Pope Benedict XVI to lead the Catholic community in Port-au-Prince. Archbishop Guire Poulard was elected exactly one year after the earthquake to replace fill the position left vacant by former Archbishop Joseph Serge Miot
