Haiti's First-Time Win of Hockey Trophy

In a surprise win, Haiti's National Street Hockey Team (NSHT) beat the Cayman Islands 4-2 to earn the championship trophy in Switzerland. Haiti, not very experienced in the sport, was carried to victory with the aid of Haitian-Canadian players.

The International Street and Hockey Federation eased up on the rules to allow the Haitian-Canadian players to participate using their superior puck skills to nab the trophy. NSHT was coached by Haitian-Canadian Georges Laraque.
