Andre Michel wants PHTK disqualified, listed as terrorist organization

Haitian Attorney Andre Michel wants PHTK disqualified from the electoral process and listed as terrorist organization.

Michel Andre, a lawyer and the former presidential candidate of JISTIS, considers that the Parti Haitien Tet Kale (PHTK) of former President Michel Martelly, should no longer be considered as a democratic political party, but a terrorist group and has asked the Ministry of Justice to revoke their party credentials in the next election. This was his reaction following the armed attacks at the Les Cayes police station in the dawn of May 16, 2016 which resulted in the death of a policeman, four attackers, and injuries to five officers. One of the captured attackers has told the local reporters that former Senator Guy Philippe, a presidential candidate (Front for National Reconstruction, a guerrilla group) who was a former Tonton Macoutes leader and former Haitian Police Chief, was behind the attack. Andre criticized the demonstrations led by the PHTK that resulted in the destruction of citizens' property. He also feels that CEP should have taken proper action against the PHTK much earlier, because they were behind the violence leading up and during the August 9, 2015 elections and massive frauds undertaken during the October 25, 2015 polls.

Terrorism and Military Occupation in Haiti by United Nations, MINUSTAH

Terrorism and Military Occupation in Haiti by United Nations, MINUSTAH

For the past 10 years, with their occupancy in Haiti since 2004, the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) has maintained a reign of terror. An Intergovernmental body created for promoting human rights and maintaining peace sounds more like tyrannical to Haitians. The troop first arrived in June 2004, just one month after Aristide's kidnapping. One of its first act was to support the illegal administration that followed the coup. Haitians are never satisfied with the MINUSTAH. There are many reasons for their dislike. Some of which include: (1) MINUSTAH people continually harass and humiliate Haitians; (2) They enjoy immunity from prosecution; (3) They often sabotage democracy and electoral processes for own interest; (4) Interferes in Haiti's political affairs; (5) They were ineffective, cowardice and hardly cooperative during the earthquake emergencies; (6) Carriers of many contagious diseases; (7) The presence of UN troop on Haitian soil is illegal.
