Here is a picture of Haitian President Michel Martelly in Trou-du-Nord for the planting of the first seedlings of organic bananas .

The picture was taken on October 10, 2014. It is part of a project to organize together close to 3,000 farmers from different associations in the country to cultivate organic bananas for export.

The plan will cover thousand hectares ant it was made possible with the support of FEPA / Agritrans consortium that has modernized agricultural equipment, pumps for irrigation, artificial lake. The project is expected to create over 3,000 jobs.

This is one of the biggest news coming out of Haiti. Major Gold, silver and copper mines found in Trou du Nord, Haiti. For a country where the population has been suffering due to cronic poverty, the news that Haiti has gold, silver and copper mines is quite a sweet announcement.

Does that mean that Haiti may be on its way to divorce misery? It is quite possible that with the discovery of these wealth in the land that our beloved country of Haiti may take a new path and say goodbye to it to its long history of poverty and misery.

As Haiti is celebrating a rebirth of the country with the new Caracol Industrial Park in the northern of Haiti, President Michel Martelly said Haiti Is Open For Business. Haiti is in dead open for business. I can also say that there are several cities and towns in Haiti that will be open for business as Caracol Industrial Park starts creating jobs and opportunities for entrepreneurs in the area trying to provide services to support the park. We already predict that the following towns will benefit directly and are considered to be prime locations for new businesses. They are Ouanaminthe, Fort Liberte, Terriere Rouge, Trou Du Nord, Caracol, Quartier Morin in northern and Cap-Haitian Haiti. Anything that involve housing, restaurant, healthcare services, Hotels, restaurants and a variety of other business would be considered to be great business opportunities

A city in the north of Haiti, Trou du Nord is also known as Twou din.

Trou-du-Nord is in the arrondissement of Troud-du-Nord and also the capital of the arrondissement. Elevated at 36 meters above the sea level, the town where goal, silver and copper was discovered lies within the coordinates 18 38' 0 North and 72 01' 0 West. It is inhabited by 50,200 residents.

The municipality Trou du Nord covers a total area of 130.8 km2. 1km2 and has approximately 383 residents.

Trou du Nord

It is interesting to see how a town can go from being unknown to international interest. This was the case for the town of Trou du Nord in Haiti, ever since it was discovered that it has gold.

in 2012, a mining company revealed that they have found more than 1 million ounces of gold at two sites in the region of Trou du Nord

What makes it interesting is that not only they found gold in Haiti, they also found silver and copper.

The town of Trou du nord that is equiped with a few primary schools and secondary schools became the most interesting town in Haiti.
