Presidential candidate Jean Chevalier Sanon has been disqualified. He has violated Article 135 of the Constitution by holding a Canadian passport and retaining his Canadian citizenship.
The Constitution is clear a candidate cannot hold dual citizenship. They must be a Haitian only without ". . . any other nationality at the time of registration."
The electoral Council under its protocol, will turn his case over to a criminal court to be reviewed.
