Antonio Cheramy faces Alix Didier Fils-Aime on Runoff

Here are two candidates of the same political parties, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé of Platform VERITE faces Alix Didier Fils-Aime who is also from Platform VERITE on the runoff election for West department.

Two electoral candidates for the Senate, Alix Didier Fils-Aime and Antonio Chéramy from the same political party, VERITE, are fighting with each other to run for the Senate as they are refusing to withdraw. These two candidates for the Western department registered under the same banner of TRUTH, have openly displayed their enmity to the local media. On September 8, 2015, TRUTH, the leading party in the upcoming Haiti election has announced that it was pulling itself out from the next month's legislative elections, because they considered their party was the primary victim of violence during the first round of voting in August .The popular singer Antonio Cheramy alias Don Kato has accused Alix Didier Fils-Aimé to be in reality a pawn of President Martelly. According to him, the TRUTH platform has not received any financial support after the exclusion of Jacky Lumarque. It is a matter of surprise to him how Alix Fils-Aime, a former president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is spending so much on his campaign. However, the fight between these two candidates from the same party is a matter of disgrace to the public.

Here are three major candidates in the Platform VERITE as they have decided to withdraw from Electoral Process.

On Tuesday, September 8, after numerous reported incidents of violence and fraud occurred during the first round of election on August 9, with the extremely low voter turnout, the 'Platform Vérité', the leading platform of various political groups co-founded by René Préval, has decided to withdraw itself from the electoral race. In an official statement, signed by its General Coordinator Génard Joseph, the platform has communicated its withdrawal decision because 'Platform Vérité' was the primary victim of August 9 electoral mess. They have also informed that the country needs a "good" electoral council in order to "run a good election." In 25 of the 119 races for deputy, repolling has been announced. A large cadre of candidates had taken to the streets in protest against the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) and as per their claim the government was the mastermind behind the mass rigging of August 9.

candidate Jerry Tardieu to challenge results

Here is a picture of candidate for deputy for Pétion-ville, Jerry Tardieu, VERITE delivering a message to a crowd.

Jerry Tardieu, the candidate for deputy for Pétion-ville, from VERITE party, has challenged the first round of the 2015 legislative elections result published and displayed in the Departmental Electoral Office West by the Provisional Electoral Council. As per his statement, a tabulation of the minutes (procès-verbaux) in his possession, suggests that he has received 34.59% of the votes against his nearest rival's 8.54%. Thus he was ahead by 26.05% vote, confirming his victory with over 25% lead. Thus it differs from the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) figure which states 22.05% lead out of 30.86% of votes in possession of Tardieu. The Electoral Decree states that, in a contest for election of Deputy, if a candidate is not a holder of absolute majority votes, such candidate may be proclaimed as a winner if his lead is over 25% than his closest opponent. Thus, Jerry Tardieu has reasons for unhappiness.

Candidacy of Jacky LUMARQUE of party VERITE rejected by CEP

Here is a picture of Candidacy of Jacky LUMARQUE of party VERITE who learned the sad news on Friday, June 19, 2015 that his candidacy for president of Haiti has been rejected by the CEP.

Jacky Lumarque, the representative of the Verite Party, has been expelled by the Provisional Electoral Council (PEC) from the run of the Presidential election because he could not produce his discharge certificate as required by an election decree as per its mandate mentioned in Article 90 paragraph. The discharge certificate could have certified that Lumarque had handled the government funds appropriately when he ran a state education committee. Lumarque is a Mathematics graduate from the Université Toulouse III, France and a Bachelor in Law from Common Law University, Lyon III, France. He is also a member of the "Conseil Associatif" of AUF, Member of the "Comité de Gestion" of AUF, and Coordinator of the Presidential Working Group on Education.
