Wyclef Jean is a Haitian rapper, musician and actor. In the elections of 28 November 2010, he had an intention for the presidency of Haiti. After registering as a candidate, he told his enthusiastic supporters: I want to be Barack Obama of Haiti. He told that he will take his countrymen to a state that is righteous, to a golden era of prosperity. He is a Haitian in the truest form, he will speak in a language that 90% Haitians understand (Haiti, Wyclef Jean & The Scavengers). Since he spent only five years of his life in Haiti, his candidacy was rejected. In an August 2014, Democratic National Convention, Wyclef performed with many other celebrities of Tinseltown. He recorded a video on Barack Obama. After the 2010 earthquake, to support Haitian relief, he requested Barack Obama to declare a state of emergency.

Here is a picture of the Haitian president Rene Preval and the Haitian Hip Hop superstar Wyclef Jean taking a picture together.

Wyclef was appointed as a roving ambassador of Haiti by Rene Preval. These two have met in several occasions. After Wyclef entered the race for the Presidency of Haiti, Rene preval met with him for more than two hours. According to Jean, the meeting was positive.

Also a few days after Wyclef was removed from the list of candidates, President Preval surprisingly called him on stage at an event at the Clinton Global initiative and said He has made the plight of Haiti visible throughout the world even before the earthquake,''

Here is a picture of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt participating in an event taking place in Haiti. They were accompanied by Wyclef Jean. The two were in Haiti following the earthquake to provide support to the volunteers who are working hard helping the victims.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are well known for their contribution to the poor and the deprived. They have adopted several children from various nations.

The Haiti election 2010 was scheduled for November 28, 2010. A total of 19 candidates participated in the election.

The Haitians in the past were hiding their background and their identity because of stigma. Thanks to Wyclef Jean and some other activists, they have been able to change that.
