In his message to the Haitian population during the anniversary of his second year in office, President Martelly stated that this is something that he wants and sill working to make it possible: a meeting between Jean Claude Duvalier and Jean Bertrand Aristide.

The leader of the Fanmi Lavalas party went to court on Jean Leopold Dominique Case. However, according to many political analysis the winner in all that is Aristide himself and the Lavalas party.

It was estimated that hundreds of thousand of people took to the street to show support for the former president.

Thousands of Jean Bertrand Aristide supporters took to the streets to support him. He was summoned by Haitian Judge Yvickel Dabresil in the case of the assassination of the famous Haitian journalist Jean Léopold Dominique and his guard.

Here is former Haitian President and still popular leader of the Lavalas political Party, Jean Bertrand Aristide, with the supporting crowd, following his court hearing. He was accompanied by several elected officials such as Moise Jean Charles, John Joel Joseph, MP Saurel hyacinth. For the first time since his return from Exile, former Haitian President Jean Bertrand Aristide has a chance to greet his supporters. Whether it was mistake from the current power in place of just having the judicial system to work independently, Aristide took the opportunity to tour Port-au-Prince. It came following a three-hour, closed-door hearing with a Haitian investigative judge.

Aristide was summoned as part of the ongoing murder investigation of the unsolved assassination of famous journalist Jean Léopold Dominique.

Did you expect to see a picture like this in our lifetime? The current president Michel Martelly meets with Jean Bertrand Aristide on Wednesday, October 12, 2011.

The two leaders appear to be fun of eachother. This was not the case a few years ago when Michel Martelly was openly opposed to the presidency of Jean Bertrand Aristide.

However, it seems that the past stays in the past and both Michel Martelly and Jean Bertrand Aristide are willing to forget about the past for a better future for Haiti

Here is a picture of Jean Bertrand Aristide with Nelson Mandela. The African Icon Nelson Mandela joined the African National Congress in 1944 and was heavily involved in popular resistance against the ruling National Party's apartheid policies after 1948.

After his political party, the ANC, was banning of in 1960, Nelson Mandela moved to the military wing within the ANC. Nelson Mandela was arrested in 1962 and sentenced. Later on, on June 12, 1964, Mandela was sentenced to life imprisonment.
