Deputy Arnel Belizaire arrested as prosecution set in motion against him
Depute Arnel Belizaire is in custody after the Chief prosecutor of Port-au-Prince, Kerson Darius, has set prosecution in motion against the parliamentarian.
Deputy Arnel Belizaire is accused by Chief prosecutor of Port-au-Prince for opening fire on the people who have been protesting.
According to a reported, Arnel Belizaire was actually present and he was in possession of an assault rifle.
Deputy Arnel Belizaire has been under suspension--with a pay cut--due to his physical assault on Minister Phelito Doran.
He has a history of unpredictable and violent behavior: in early 2014, he was suspected of transporting contraband from the Dominican Republic past Customs checkpoint.
In another incident he breached security at the Prosecutor's office so detainees could break free. He has also been known to procure illegal weapons for protests against the government.
