Dr. Paul Farmer was appointed U.N. deputy special envoy to Haiti in 2009. Dr. Farmer is married to Didi and together they have three children

The International organization recently organized an event with other organizations and government agencies to develop new methods in fighting the cholera epidemic in Haiti. UNICEF provided relevant information to several Haitia Rara groups on the prevention and treatment of Cholera. It is hoping the Haitian Rara bands will be able to reach the Haitian population in some of the most remote areas of Haiti.
