Michaelle Jean In Charge Of Limonade University Commission
In an efort to have Limonade University to start serving the country soon, President Martelly has appointed Micha lle Jean to head the University Commission.
Michaelle Jean is a former Canadian governor and UNESCO's special envoy Haiti.
She will be in charge the commission that will ensure the university is up and running in a year's time.
World bank providing fundiing for children's education, teacher's training and meal
After the successful election in 2006, with encouraging efforts of Haitian President Rene Preval, the World Bank has decided to invest money in Haiti educational system. They approved a US$25 Million Grant for funding Haiti's Educational System. As a result of the World Bank funding, the Haitian government would be responsible to provide effective Primary Education for 100,000 poor children, in about 1,000 Private Schools. In addition funding for teacher's training and meal for the children would be provided as well
The inauguration of University Roi Henri Christophe on January 12, 2012
The second anniversary of the Haiti earthquake is marked by a positive note with the inauguration of the University Roi Henri Christophe. Thi represents a chance to do things better and to educate the Haitian population to better care for themselves.
In two years, on the exact same day of the disaster that killed over to200,000 Haitians, President Leonel Fernandez of the Dominican Republic was present, along with the Haitian President Michel Martelly in Limonade for the occasion. The University Roi Henri Christophe was offered by the government and the business sector of Dominican Republic.
Francois Duvalier International Airport - Toussaint Louverture International Airport
Here is a picture of the Haitian main airport in Port-au-Prince. Originally, this airport was built during the duvaliewr regime and was named Francois Duvalier International Airport. Following the exile oof Jean-Claude Duvalier to France, the airport was re-named Toussaint Louverture International Airport
