Here is a picture of Haitian President Jocelerme Privert with the newly named Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles.

After the rejection of Haiti's interim president Privert's first Prime Minister Nominee Fritz Alphonse Jean by the parliament, President Privert proposed another name as Prime Minister Nominee, Enex Jean-Charles. Jean Charles is a civil servant and professor of administrative law and a longtime adviser of the National Palace. Following the verification of his eligibility criteria by the Special Parliamentary Committee, the new Prime Minister has received the approval of the Haitian Chamber of Deputies with 78-1 votes. His 15-member cabinet has received approval from both the Senate and the Lower Chamber. Earlier to this appointment, he was one of Privert's advisers and president in the ministerial cabinet as Minister of Planning and External Cooperation in the eventual government of Fritz-Alphonse Jean. He has many published research reports and articles on administrative matters to his credit. He is a well known figure in the international community of professors, politicians and community leaders. Enex Jean-Charles is well known in politics since 1988. He is a friend of everyone, but with fewer enemies.

Here is a picture of Mr. Enex Jean Charle. According to Radio Station Scoop FM, he has been designated as new Prime Minister.

Now Haiti has a new prime minister named Enex Jean-Charles, amid its political crisis. The new Prime Minister is a civil servant and professor of administrative law who has served as adviser to several presidents. On late Thursday, March 24, 2016, the Senators have voted 20- 0 in favor of Enex Jean-Charles' general policy statement. However, finding a consensus over his nomination was not an easy task, because a group of deputies played hardball with his nominator Privert, refusing to provide a quorum for the hearing until a list of their demands were met. Their main demands were publication of a new election date, and the publication of mayoral results which had been put on hold till the names of the new members of the Provisional Electoral Council are decided. It is unclear how their demands and myriad of problems with their constituencies were met. The President of the Chamber Cholzer Chancy after several requests had mentioned that this is a provisional government with limited mandates. Finally, the new Prime Minister has got approval of the parliament for his 15-member cabinet from both the senate and the lower chamber. The new cabinet is composed of 18 ministries, which would be managed by 15 ministers who have sworn in as part of the country's interim government.

Here is a picture of Gary Bodeau, Deputy of Delmas.

On February 14, 2016, despite his opposition to the candidacy of Senator Privert as the Interim President, Gary Bodeau, Deputy of Delmas asked the Interim President, together with Parliament, to give the country a consensus government, headed by a competent, honest and dynamic Prime Minister who should be supported by over 15 ministers and three secretaries of state which to be selected from the bodies of politicians and / or civil societies. Although Bodeau saluted Privert's coming to power, he was of opinion that Privert's accession to the presidency of parliamentary office was in contravention to the principle of separation of powers, against Articles 60 and 60.1 of the constitution. He requested his parliamentary colleagues to respect political ethics and have respect for the constitution of the country.

Vote of confidence on the general policy of Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles on March 24, 2016

On March 25, 2016, after receiving the vote of confidence on his general policy in the Senate of the Republic, the new Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles said, he felt honored because the Senators have bestowed confidence on his general policy. Earlier in the day, the Chamber of Deputies approved his general policy statement with 78-1 votes; 2 deputies remained abstained from voting. With this approval, now the country has a new Prime Minister and a 15-member cabinet. It is a definite positive move during the transitional period until a new president is elected as per February 5th, 2016 agreement and a critical step toward concluding postponed elections.

Against: 0 Senator, 1 Deputy
Abstention: 0 Senator, 2 Deputies

Here is a picture of Prime Minister Nomimee Enex Jean Charles at the Haitian Parliament submitting proper documentation for his ratification process

The Haitian Chamber of Deputies approved the general policy of the new Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles on Friday, March 25, 2016 with 78 votes in his favor. One vote went against him and one member did not participate in voting. The new Prime Minister did not waste any time following his appointment to announce his 15-member cabinet which was approved in both the senate and the lower chamber. Two days before, on March 23, 2016, as a Prime Minister Nominee, he had submitted documents to a Special Parliamentary Committee to initiate his eligibility verification process. Earlier, on 22 March 2016, by a decree, the interim President Jocelerme Privert named Jean Charles Enex as the new Prime Minister and before the formal appointment, his nomination was approved through a consensus among the lawmakers.

On Saturday, March 26, 2016, on the occasion of Women's History Month, the Miami Herald Journalist Jacqueline Charles was honored at International Women's Brunch at Little Haiti. It was a celebration of individual excellence and community collaboration hosted by the Little Haiti Cultural Center (LHCC). Jacqueline Charles is an award winning foreign correspondent from Miami Herald covering Haiti. She is one of the co-founders of the Carolina Association of Black Journalists. She was named "the 2011 Journalist of the Year" by the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). Jacqueline co-produced the 2011 Regional Emmy Award winning documentary on Haiti, titled "Nou Bouke."

Here is a picture of Former Haitian Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe submitted documents to the Senate for ratification.

In March 2012, Laurent Lamothe, then Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs, following his resignation from the ministry, and as a Prime Minister-designate, submitted his documents to a Special Commission in the Senate of the Republic to facilitate the inquiry on the nationality of the members of the Government. Some of his critics had alleged that Lamothe had not paid his taxes and he did not fulfill the residential status in Haiti to become eligible for Prime Minister. In a letter to Simon Dieuseul Desras, the President of the Senate, Lamothe stated that he had submitted 14 documents in connection with the ratification of a Prime Minister. The documents were: 3 Birth Certificates (self, parents and grandparents; Copy of National Identity Card (CIN); Copy of his tax registration card (NIF); Proof of residence for last 5 years issued by the Municipality concerned; Copy of a title or certificate of practice of a profession or industry in Haiti; Tax clearance (final statement of taxation); Police record issued by the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ) / Courthouse; Curriculum vitae; All valid and expired passports used during his trips abroad; Haitian nationality certificate issued by the Directorate of Immigration and Emigration; Proof of abandonment of all activities incompatible with the position of Prime Minister; and all other necessary documents not listed in this list.

Here is a picture of Francois Duvalier as he was transferring power to his son Jean Claude Duvalier.

François Duvalier was the President of Haiti from 1957 until his death (22 October 1957 - 21 April 1971). Unlike other Haitian chief executives, he ruled his country using extreme violence (causing nearly 30,000 deaths) and phony elections to hold down any opposition. To consolidate his power, he reduced the size of the army and, with his chief aide, Clément Barbot, organized a private army "the Tontons Macoutes" (Bogeymen). In 1959, when he was stricken by a heart attack, Barbot acted in his stead. However, upon recovery, Duvalier (Papa Doc, because he was trained as a physician) promptly imprisoned his aide Barbot. He took the title of "President for Life" in 1964 and remained in power until he died in 1971. On Duvalier's death, power was transferred to his son 19-year-old Jean-Claude ("Baby Doc") who succeeded him as president and Jean-Claude Duvalier, became the second-generation "President for Life".

New cultural magazine on RFI, Koze Kilti

On Sunday, March 27, 2016, the Radio France Internationale (RFI) has introduced a new program in Haitian Creole and French which would be broadcast exclusively on its Haitian antennas. The program named "Koze Kilti" (Talk about culture, in Creole) is a 27 minute program under presentation of the Haitian journalist Dangelo Néard which would be broadcasted every Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and rebroadcast at 8:30 p.m. (Haiti time). It is a program produced in partnership with the French Institute in Port-au -Prince and recorded in the Institute's Port-au-Prince studio. The program will include local and international cultural news of the week from areas like literature, film, music and visual arts. Radio France Internationale (RFI) is available via the satellite bouquet Canal Sat Caraïbes. In Haiti, the program will be available on the following FM channels: Port-au-Prince (89.3 FM), Cap Haïtien (100.5 FM), Gonaïves (90.5 FM), Jacmel (96.6 FM) Jeremiah (92.7 FM) and Les Cayes (106.9 FM).
