Film Festival gives World Competition Award to Director Peck

Haitian director Raoul Peck's "Fatal Assistance" nabbed top prize at Abu Dhabi Film Festival. It concerns Haiti's attempts to rebuild itself after the 2010 earthquake. He is also director of films "L'Homme sur les Quais", "Haitian Corner", "Corps Plonges", and "Lumumba".

Peck served as Haitian Minister of Culture for nearly two years, and has helped develop Haiti's cultural life, launching Foundation Forum Eldorado and purchasing movie theatre Eldorado to support local artists.
