Here is a picture where Candidate Sauveur Pierre Etienne was aggressed at Haiti State University during a campaign presentation

Professor Etienne, running for the Haitian presidency, was assailed by University of Haiti students on the UOH campus.

Etienne, representing Organization of People Struggling, spoke of UOH as ". . . a space where differing ideas can be presented in peace . . ." This provoked some students to throw chairs at Etienne.

The reaction points to Haiti's fragile electoral system, in which PEC President Opont is accused of operating a corrupt electoral process. Haitians demand Opont be removed immediately.

Jean-Charles Moise Runs Against Martelly Machine

Ex-senator Jean-Charles Moise, a presidential candidate, inaugurated his campaign in Saint Michel de l'Attalaye. He represents the Pitit Dessalines party.

Although a popular candidate, he is pitted against the corrupt Provisional Electoral Council and the controlling influence of the Martelly government.

Born in North Department of Milot he has served three terms as its mayor. In the past he has campaigned under the banners of Lespwa and Inite, but his loyalty remains with Lavalassienne.

Here is a picture of Clarens Renois who was elected to represent the Protestant sector.

On September 22, the high level committee for the Mediation Commission of the Protestant sector in Haiti chaired by Reverend Gerald Bataille, after their second level of discussion, has nominated journalist Clarens Renois as their sole candidate to run for the presidency. Renois has won the nomination by surpassing two other candidates-- Chavannes Jeune and Jean Paleme Mathurin. A resolution has been signed by the Mediation Commission to find a consensus formula so that the commission can decide definitively on the Protestant nomination and the candidates who were not nominated may remain eligible to run further and contest.

Here is a picture of Radio personality Jacques Sampeur who is a candidate in Haiti presidential Election on 2015.

Jacques Sampeur, a presidential candidate from Konbit Liberasyon Ekonomik party is different from others in his league on many counts. While his other contenders are making a plethora of promises, he prefers to speak sensibly and identify the real deterrent causes, which if removed can make our lives easier. He believes his countrymen are matured enough to think and decide, but need some good representatives whom they can trust. He believes a good representative's agenda should be based on the following premises: modernizing agriculture to lower food cost, create quality education, rebuild poor neighborhoods, modernizing Haitian cities to reduce the load of population explosion in Port-au-prince, create environment to draw investment and tourism, mentor youth, facilitate wealth for the middle class, create an agency which will be dedicated to the improvement of Haitian-Dominican relationship. Jacques Sampeur is a radio personality and the director of ATV 42. He understands and admits that there are very few leaders who would ever want to achieve them other than making false promises, because they all run for power and nothing else.

Eligible Criteria of a Haitian President
The President in Haiti is elected to a five-year term by popular vote. The President is not to be elected twice in a row; he may serve a second term only after an interval of five years, and must not run for a third term.
To be elected President, the aspiring candidate must:
1. be a native-born Haitian and never renounced that nationality;
2. have reached the age of 35 by election day;
3. enjoy civil and political rights and not have been sentenced to death, or penal servitude or the loss of civil rights for a crime of ordinary law;
4. be the owner of a real property and have one's habitual residence in the country;
5. reside in the country at least 5 years before election day; and
6. have been discharged of responsibilities if previously handling public funds.

Here is a picture of Presidential Candidate under the Platform Pitit Desalin, Moise Jean Charles and his campaign Manager, Daly Valet.

It was about six months ago that Daly Valet, the star reporter of Radio Vision 2000 had announced his support for the "Pitit Dessalines" and had informed that he would endorse none other than the leader of the Platform Pitit Dessalines. Recently an agreement has been signed between Valet and Moise Jean Charles, the leader and a candidate for the presidential run under the banner of Platform Pitit Desalin. As per the terms of the agreement Moise would provide all logistical, financial and manpower supports necessary for accomplishing Valet's mission as campaign manager. Both parties to the agreement will make plans and take strategic decision, jointly within the framework of the campaign. Valet will be responsible for planning and coordinating all campaign operations of Moses throughout the country. Valet's responsibility will terminate with the final announcement of the presidential election result.

Here is a picture of Ernst Jeudy, Candidate for Deputy in Delmas.

Ernst Jeudy, ending up in second place during first-round voting, has been exposed as a former drug dealer. In 1987 a half pound of cocaine was discovered in his bag at Miami International Airport. Political observers say he should be disqualified from participating any further in elections.

The bigger issue is PEC should be conducting background checks on all candidates. Pundits say many politicians with arrest records have been elected to office only to raid government coffers.

Here is a picture of candidate for deputy for Pétion-ville, Jerry Tardieu, VERITE delivering a message to a crowd.

Jerry Tardieu, the candidate for deputy for Pétion-ville, from VERITE party, has challenged the first round of the 2015 legislative elections result published and displayed in the Departmental Electoral Office West by the Provisional Electoral Council. As per his statement, a tabulation of the minutes (procès-verbaux) in his possession, suggests that he has received 34.59% of the votes against his nearest rival's 8.54%. Thus he was ahead by 26.05% vote, confirming his victory with over 25% lead. Thus it differs from the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) figure which states 22.05% lead out of 30.86% of votes in possession of Tardieu. The Electoral Decree states that, in a contest for election of Deputy, if a candidate is not a holder of absolute majority votes, such candidate may be proclaimed as a winner if his lead is over 25% than his closest opponent. Thus, Jerry Tardieu has reasons for unhappiness.

On Friday, August 21st, Dr. Maryse Narcisse the presidential candidate from 'Fanmi Lavalas Party' was welcomed by a delegation at the Fort Lauderdale Airport before her 48 hour visit to meet and interact with people in South Florida. During her visit in Miami, Dr. Narcisse was accompanied by the Senator of Northeast, Jean-Baptiste Bien-Aimé and Lesly Voltaire, former Minister under the governments of Aristide. This medical doctor turned politician is perhaps one of the smartest people running for the presidential election who has seen how the country has been ruined by politicians over the past 4 decades. She left her thriving medical practice to join politics. People love her for her charming and humble personality and because of her status as a healthcare professional, she knows well how to get well acquainted and accepted in every section of the society, especially in rallies among common people, professionals, religious societies, businesses and other politicians.

All the preparation in place to start the voting process for the election season in Haiti in 2015. The Ballots to be used in the August 9, 2015 vote in Haiti to elect 118 Deputies and two thirds of the Senate just arrived in Airport Toussaint Louverture in Port-au-Prince from Dubai.

On Sunday, June 21, 2015, a delegation of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) composed of President Pierre Louis Opont, Secretary Ricardo Augustine, and the Director of the Electoral Register Philippe Augustin flew to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on a seven day inspection visit. They visited the firm responsible for printing the ballots for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The name of the firm responsible for printing was not disclosed; it was selected following an international tender decided by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), which manages the budget of the elections. The ballots have been delivered at the capital city airport before the August 9 election. 12.8 million ballots were required for the first round of the vote for 1508 voting centers and 13,725 polling centers.
