Honest Public Servant Henri Bazin Dies

Ex-Minister of Finance and Economy, Henri Bazin, started life in St. Marc and passed away in Port-au-Prince. He was considered one of the few honest men in Haitian government.

Bazin attacked corruption where he saw it, notably the National Palace's financial account. Blank checks were being issued to government employees and Bazin stopped the practice.

He held positions of public service in Europe, Africa, and the U.S. before serving in the Haitian government.
