Haitian personality rumored to be Gay or Lesbian

The most prominent Haitian personality rumored to be Gay is the former Prime Minister Michele Pierre-Louis. The nomination process of former Prime Minister Michele Pierre-Louis was a chance and opportunity to bring the issue of homosexuality in the front burner in the country. Although Ms. Pierre-Louis became prime Minister, that was possible only after reading a public statement declaring the rumors to be false. In fact, most political leaders in the country and organizations which have arisen are largely hostile to LGBT rights. Some people who have been following closely the Haitian history think the the lack of support of Gay, Lesbian or "Masisi" in the Haitian society has a lot to do with their strong ties to the Catholic Church or fundamentalist Protestant.

That particular constitution does contain many legal provisions that is likely to affect the human rights of LGBT or homosexuality in Haiti or as it is stated in Haitian Creole, Masisi
