Jean Monestime celebrated the unveiling of Haiti: Leaving a Legacy

On July 25 2013, officials from Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) and the Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jean Monestime celebrated the inauguration of Haiti: Leaving a Legacy, a distinctive pool of high-design Haitian handicrafts now on exhibition at the South Terminal of MIA. The nine artists included in the show were part of the Urban Zen Haiti Artisan Project that spurs economic development in Haiti by increasing the availability of the country's artwork in the global market. The exhibition, on display through December at South Terminal Gallery of MIA, is collaboration between the Haitian Cultural Arts Alliance, MDAD's Fine Arts & Cultural Affairs Division, and American fashion designer Donna Karan. Pascale Marra, Cultural Attaché from the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami, was also in attendance for the inauguration.
