Who would think that Haiti would be a shopping destination. For Terry Lundgren of Macy's, Lifestyle guru Martha Stewart and designer Rachel Roy in Haiti, this was quite a shopping trip to go to Haiti. They were in the island to explore opportunities to do business as Haiti remains the leader in art and design in the Caribbean. It was reported that the CEO of the superstore Macy's took Martha Stewart and designer Rachel Roy to Haiti to meet Haitian artists and observe first hand the beautiful products they are creating. As of now 25 Macy's stores are carrying Haitian art pieces. this project was initiated following the 2010 earthquake that destroyed many lives in and also put many of the Haitian artists out of business
President Michel Martelly Digicel's Chairman Denis O'Brien
In recognition for the support, interest and involvement in Haiti and the Haitian people, President Michel Martelly decorated Mr. Denis O'Brien, the Chairman for Digicel.
President Martelly took the opportunity to list some of the accomplishments of Denis O'Brien on behalf of the Haitian people. They include: the generous support of his Digicel company after the 2010 earthquake, the investment in education, art, sport. Mr. O'Brien was also recognized for his contribution to help restore the Port-au-Prince Iron Market Hyppolite

National Day of the Child in Haiti debut with Michel Martelly
Ther president was present today to start something new in Haiti. Michel martelly with some high officials in his government helped launched the National day of the child. During his message to the children who were present at the event, President Michel martelly told the children this is in accordance with is campaign promesses. the event was sponsored by the followings:
MINUSTAH, UNICEF, Institut du Bien Etre Social et de Recherches (IBESR), and Haiti's Ministry of Social Affairs and Work.
