This Haitian dish Tomtom is a signature dish from South of Haiti. Breadfruit With Okra is also called in Haitian Creole Tomtom ak Kalalou Gombo or Veritab ak Gombo.
Some argue that the dish is originated from the city of Jeremie in Haiti and considered to be traditional to the town. The dish is dated back during French colonization of Saint-Domingue (now Haiti) when it was the everyday dish of the Haitians.
Here is what you need to make Tomtom: Breadfruit, salt, crushed black pepper, okra (fresh or frozen), olive oil, tomato paste, Chopped onions, zest of lemon
Breadfruit is very plentiful in the island and its yield is one of the highest for any food plant. Gombo or okra was also easy to come by in colonial times because it grows quickly in tropical climates. Haitians has a famoiu proverb: "Ou sèl dwèt pa manjé kalalou gombo". English version: "One finger does not eat OOkra"

The Haitian dish can not be eaten by itself. Best way to eat it is to place the breadfruit mash in the middle of a table, the gumbo purée alongside it

It has been reported that the Dominican President Danilo Medina has made some threats as a result of the decision of the Haitian government to ban the import of Dominican chickens and eggs to avoid the propagation of H5N2, or bird flu. Medina said that he would take "drastic measures" to resolve the issue of the ban on Dominican chickens and eggs by the Haitian government. There are no valid reason for the ban as it was confirmed by Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)

This is a picture from the web that was in circulation during the presidential race in Haiti. At the time, there was an allegation that Candidate Michel Martelly was not Haitian and was holding the citizenship of a foreign country, namely that of the United States.

This Passport is not legitimate and likely was manufactured by people trying to circulate the rumor that our president is of another nationality. One person suggested that this passport showed expiration date within 5 years. However, all US passports are given for more than 5 years. It is clear this is a fake document

Do you think that Michel Martelly should call Liliane Pierre Paul, "Ti Lili"?

This has been the issue following a visit that the president conducted at Radio Television Caraibes. During the interview, he referred to the Radio host of Kiskeya, Ms. Liliane Pierre Paul as "Ti Lili"

The reaction to this name was not positive from Liliane. She stated that her name is Liliane and Lili for her close friend

President Michel Martelly feels that he has every right in the world to call the popular Kiskeya Radio host "Ti Lili". The problem is that Liliane Pierre Paul does not see it that way. She went on the air following the interview to bring some precisions that her name was Liliane Pierre Paul, and for her close frineds, it is acceptable to call her "Lili.

The two leaders appear to be fun of eachother. This was not the case a few years ago when Michel Martelly was openly opposed to the presidency of Jean Bertrand Aristide.
