Rene Preval in Pink with Michel Martelly, has he converted into Tet Kale?

Here is a picture of Former Haitian President Rene Preval with President Michel Martelly taken on October 14, 2014. This meeting took place at the National Palace following a cancelled meeting with six Political parties of the opposition such as KONTRAPEPLA, FUSION, MOPOD, FANMI LAVALAS.

The presiedent is currently in consultation with a varietry of sectors of the population in an attempt to find a solution to the electoral crisis.

Is it possible that Former Haitian President has converted to the Tet Kale movement?

I don't know if anyone else noticed but I find his shirt to be awfully pink, a color symbolizing the Martely Tet Kale Political Party

Haiti and Venezuela to Renovate Cap-Haitien Airport

Prime Minister Lamothe said Cap-Haitien International Airport has been re-named Hugo Chavez International Airport after the late Venezuelan president, a generous benefactor of Haiti. He gave over $1 billion to aid the country and his memory lives on in the hearts of Haitians.

Haiti and Venezuela have inked a deal to renovate the airport. Construction carried out by Haitian contractors with oversight by a Cuban-Venezuelan company. A runway has already been completed.

Progress Report on Haiti Public Health. President Martelly spoke before the UN 69th General Assembly on the progress made in the public health sector in Haiti.

He talked about ". . . efforts to reduce the incidence of diseases such as AIDs, malaria, and vector-borne diseases. . ." He cited statistics on lowered maternal mortality and live births that dropped more than 50%.

He also said 200-plus health centers were renovated or newly-built and training for medical professionals continues to be provided.

Cooperation Agreements Signed between Haitian and African Governments

President Martelly and Ivory Coast leader Alassane Ouattara met while in New York for the UN 69th General Assembly. They agreed to work more closely as nations across many sectors.

Last year the Ouattara government signed cooperation agreements with Haiti when Prime Minister Lamothe visited and are intending to help with the island's reconstruction.

Martelly is gratified that ". . . our African brothers will come to Haiti to take part in its reconstruction"

Martelly Promotes Opportunities in Haiti

On Wednesday, 25 September 2014, President Martelly on the sidelines of the 69th Regular Session of the General Assembly in New York met groups of investors and leaders, entrepreneurs from Executive Committee of the American Society/ Council of America. The Head of the State took the opportunity to explain successfully how Haiti is serious with its slogan "Haiti is open for business."

New YoHe has mentioned some of the efforts of his government in creating a positive environment for investment. Now, Haiti is a secured place with full of opportunities to invest. The new rules introducing promptness and ease of functioning have made Haiti an ideal destination for investors whether it is in infrastructure, tourism or energy--there are ample of opportunities here. The audience was impressed with the President's statement and has proposed to arrange similar meets in other important states like Florida.

On Friday, 27 September 2014, President Martelly as part of his participation on the third day of the 69th Ordinary Session of the General Assembly has delivered a speech before the Nations of the world.

Martelly has mentioned the necessity to expand the scope and ability of the world organization with sufficient resources so that it can face myriad emergencies and fulfill its mission effectively. He has mentioned a host of issues that needed to be included under its program from management of diseases to development programs and enlargement of the Security Council with addition of new permanent members.

Michel Joseph Martelly believes that the credibility and legitimacy of the United Nations depends on its capacity to act quickly and effectively while recognizing the relative value of each member with better coordination. The goal of the UN should be to reduce poverty and inequality throughout the world and preserve international peace and security
