Haiti Population and the problem of overcrowding
The country of Haiti is now 9.72 million inhabitants strong. The majority of the population is young with 58.5% of the inhabitants are aged between 15 to 64 years, followed closely by the 38.1% that is accounted by the 0 to 14 years age group. The elderly population in Haiti is also of great significance. Those aged 65 and above are the minority as they constitute 3.4% of the entire Haitian population.
The growth rate has declined as a result of the 2010 earthquake and also due to large number of Haitians leaving Haiti for a better life elsewhere.
Other problem related to current overpopulation in Haiti is overcrowding.
