More than 13 million tons of bauxite exploited from Miragoane

From 1957 to 1982, Reynolds Haitian Mines Metals Inc. obtained an exclusive monopoly on bauxite and a concession to mine near Miragoâne

The company used the port of Miragoane on a regular basis as the region was a major source of bauxite which was mined inland between the 1960s and 1980s.

During that period, Reynolds Haitian Mines Metals Inc. was exploiting bauxite from Miragoane at an annual rate of 600,000 tons. A total of 13.3 million tons of bauxite was sent up to Corpus Christi, Texas.

This is one of the biggest news coming out of Haiti. Major Gold, silver and copper mines found in Trou du Nord, Haiti. For a country where the population has been suffering due to cronic poverty, the news that Haiti has gold, silver and copper mines is quite a sweet announcement.

Does that mean that Haiti may be on its way to divorce misery? It is quite possible that with the discovery of these wealth in the land that our beloved country of Haiti may take a new path and say goodbye to it to its long history of poverty and misery.

White marble in Gonaives, same quality with Italian marble

Here is a picture of a mountain located in la valle des Gonaives which was known in the past as Savane Desole.

This mountain contains white marble of the same quality with Italian marble. This is another example of the wealth that exists in Haiti

We probably have a lot more of these mountains filled with these white marbles that the world would want to pay lots of money for.
