Elderly Haitian

Here is a picture of what is to be known as the oldest living couple in the area of spring valley. An Haitian Couple married for 82 years, Duranord and Jeanne Veillard

The couple were blessed with five children, all of whom would eventually join them in Spring Valley where they settled. Today, age has left his body weaker, but his mind and personality are as strong as ever, and his wife is still the quieter of the two, content to sit by his side and listen to his jokes or his singing. The Veillards, when they eventually pass, will be succeeded by their children, grand and great-grandchildren.

Here is a photo of the birth certificate of the oldest woman in the world. She is a Haitian Woman, Cecilia Laurent. In the yeart 2011, at the age of 115, Cecilia Laurent experienced the American Occupation in Haiti. She also was alive during the first and second world wars as well.

Here is a picture of the Haitian First Lady Sophia Martelly as she is bringing awareness to the communal Asylum of Port-au-Prince and the way in which our senior citizens are living. The first lady is in a visit to the communal Asylum to underline the current problems such as the damages that the 2010 earthquake inflicted on the building as well as issues related to over crowdedness. The communal Asylum of Port-au-Prince is located at Rue St Martin in the Haitian Capital and is currently the home of 56 elderly Haitians

Here is a photo of Cecilia Laurent, Oldest Woman In The World. At the age of 115 in 2011, she survived the the 2010 Haiti earthquake that destroyed her home. Ms. Laurent is currently living in Canada with her children, grand children and great grand children.
