Haitian Writer, Dr. Pradel Pompilus
One of the most respected Haitian scholars, Dr. Pradel Pompilus was born in 1914 and passed away in 2000. He was a writer, teacher, grammarian and linguist, best known for his study of Haitian literature.
Dr. Pradel Pompilus was born in Arcahaie, studied law, was professor of French and Latin. He became one of the first Haitian scholars in Paris and in 1957
Dr. Pompilus was then appointed professor of literature at the University of S State of Haiti and was a teacher at Ecole Normale Supérieure during 1980s.
