Jozy Altidore to Fund Broadcasting Cost For Copa America Matches To Haiti

Jozy Altidore, the Toronto FC striker might not take part for the US national team at the Copa America Centenario due to a hamstring injury, but he came to the limelight with an important announcement this summer. Altidore and his foundation have teamed up with the St. Luke Foundation to deliver television coverage of all three (3) group-stage matches featuring both countries, United States and Haiti, as well as the tournament's semifinal games and championship, for a total of nine (9) matches at locations across the country. Large projection screens have been transported from Miami to Haiti, otherwise it would not be available to a vast majority of this impoverish nation. As part of their initiative, the St. Luke Foundation, a 100% Haitian run non-profit organization will arrange, host and supervise public watch parties for the games with provision for some foods and beverages. The St. Luke Foundation primarily provides education, medical care and dignified humanitarian outreach programs to more than 90,000 people per year in places that have been underserved by traditional service providers.
