Telecoms paid million in bribery to Haitian officials

US Justice Department charged Telecoms for paying $1.4 million in bribery to some high Haitian officials at Haiti's state-owned telecommunications firm. In return for the money, Telecoms was to get preferential treatments in some sectors of the Haitian communication industry.

Obviously, the deal did not gp accprdomg to plan. This investigation is getting closer and closer to the dest of former Haitian president Jean-Bertrand Aristide as there are allegation that this took place during his government

Haiti one of the most corrupt Nations in the world - Transparency International

Here is a picture and ranking position of Haiti based on the report by Transparency International.

According to the 2011 Global Corruption report, Haiti ranks in 175th position. The Dominican Republic that did not do well either, is doing much better than Haiti in stopping government corruption in its country.
